يُعدُّ الدكتور عليّ جواد الطَّاهر من فضلاء الحِلَّة المرموقين، والعلماء المبرزين، ممَّن مَلكَ ناصية الأدب، وسنام المعرفة، وهبه اللهُ تعالى قلمًا سيَّالًا، ونثرًا مبسوطَ العبارة، ولغةً عذبة المورد. ويأتي هذا البحث للكشف عن منهج الدكتور الطَّاهر في النقد اللغويّ، إذ اتَّخذ منهج التشدُّد في قضايا التصحيح اللغويّ، وهو يسيرُ بركب مدرسة الدكتور مصطفى جواد في التَّصحيح اللغويّ.
ومن مميِّزات أسلوبه في النقد اللغويّ وضوح البيان، وسهولة العرض، إذ
لا يكتفي الدكتور الطَّاهر بالتّخطئة والتّعليل، بل يصحِّحُ التَّعبير، وهو تفكيرٌ نقديُّ مميَّزٌ. وقد رصد البحث جملة من الأخطاء التي تتعلَّق بالمفردات والتَّراكيب والرسم الإملائيّ التي حفلَ بها كتاب الدكتور الطَّاهر (تحقيقات وتعليقات).

Dr. Ali Jawad Al-Taher is one of Hilla's distinguished people, prominent scholars, have the corner of literature, the hump of knowledge, the God Almighty had gifted him a liquid pen with a simplified prose and fresh language. This research comes to reveal Dr. Taher's approach to linguistic criticism, he has taken a hard-line approach to language correction issues and he was walking along side with Dr. Mustafa Jawad's school on linguistic correction.
Among the characteristic of his style of criticism is the clarity of the statement, ease of presentation, Dr. Taher not only figure out mistakes and explanations, but he corrects the expression also, which it is a distinctive critical thinking. It is a distinctive critical thinking. The research identified a number of errors related to the vocabulary, compositions and spelling that were presented by Dr. Taher's book (Tahkikat wa ta'alikat) investigations and comments.
