The Proof of Returning of Sun to Imam Ali (PBUH)
اشتدَّ الخلافُ في كرامة ردِّ الشمس للإمام علي؛ ذلك أنَّه يتعارض مع حديث أخرجه أحمد في مسنده: (ما حُبِسَتِ الشمسُ على بشَرٍ قطُّ، إلَّا على يوشَعَ بنِ نونٍ، ليالِيَ سارَ إلى البيتِ المُقَدَّسِ).
وهذا يعني أنَّها لم ترد للإمام عليّ؛ لأنَّ الحديث حصر الكرامة للوصيّ يوشع ابن نون.
وحوادث الشمسِ مذكورةٌ في الكتب القديمة كما يأتي:
وقوف الشمس لوصيّ النبيّ موسى يوشع بن نون: ووقوفها كان استجابة لدعائه ومعجزة مِن الله له.
رد الشمس للملك حزقيا (سنة 612 ق.م، ونبوته بعد 666 ق.م)، في عهد النبيّ يونس:حين تراجع الظلُّ إلى الوراء عشر درجات بعد مرضه.
ردُّ الشمس لنبيّ الله سليمان بن داوود (عاش 970 ق.م حتَّى 931 ق.م): حتَّى يُصلِّي صلاته في وقتها بعد أن غادرت الشمس وقتها، ثمَّ قام فصلَّى فلمَّا فرغ غابت الشمس.
حبس الشمس وردِّها لرسول الله: وقد ذكره عددٌ كبير من المُفسِّرين القدماء والمحدِّثين؛ فقد ردَّت له الشمس مرَّتين: إحداهما يوم الخندق حين شُغلوا عن صلاة العصر حتَّى غربت فردَّها اللهُ عليه حتَّى صلَّى العصر، والثانية كانت حبسًا في صبيحة الإسراء.
ردُّ الشمس للإمام عليّ، وقد ردَّت الشمس لأمير المؤمنين مرَّتين؛ الأُولى: مكانًا وزمانًا بالصهباء من أرض خيبر، والثانية عندما خرج لقتال الخوارج في أرض بابل.

The dispute intensified over the miracle of the sun's restoration of Imam Ali (PBUH). This is because it contradicts a hadith that Ahmad provided in his Musnad: "The sun has never been restricted to a human being, except for Joshua son of Nun, when he was on his way to the Holy House".
This means that the sun did not restoration to Imam Ali (PBUH); because the hadith restricted the dignity of the guardian Joshua son of Nun (PBUH). The narrations of the return of the sun are mentioned in the first ancient books:
The sun restoration to Joshua son of Nun (PBUH), the Prophet Moses's assistant (PBUH), and her standing was a response to his supplication and a miracle from Allah to him.
Return of the sun to King Hezekiah (612 B.C., and his prophecy after 666 B.C.), during the reign of the Prophet Jonah (PBUH), when the shadow retreated back ten degrees after his illness.
Return of the sun to the Prophet of Allah Solomon son of bin David (PBUH) (970-931 B.C.) so that he could perform his prayer on time after the sun had left at that time, after he prayed, the sun had set.
Return of the sun to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), and was mentioned by a large number of ancient commentators and hadiths. The sun returned to him twice: one of them was on the day of the khandaq, when they were distracted from the afternoon prayer until sunset, and Allah restored it to him until the afternoon prayer. The second was imprisonment on the morning of Isra.
The return of the sun to Imam Ali (PBUH), and the sun returned to the Commander of the Faithful (PBUH) twice, the first: a place and time in the desert from the land of Khaybar, and the second when he went out to fight the Kharijites in the land of Babylon.
