تناقشُ فكرةُ هذا البحث الاستقصاء الجاد للنتاج الفكريّ لعَلَمٍ من أعلام الحِلَّة الفيحاء في القرن الثامن الهجريّ، ألَا وهو العالم الأجلّ الشيخ عبد الرحمن العتائقيّ الحِلِّيّ؛ الذي تميَّز بعقليَّةٍ واسعةٍ، وذهنٍ وقَّادٍ ؛ فكان هذا العمل إظهارًا لغزارة علمه، وسعة فكره وإبداعه في العلوم الأنسانيَّة والصرفة، وبيانًا لمكانته العلميَّة السامقة بين أقرانه من الأعلام ، ناهيك عمَّا وصِف به من قبل أقرانه وتلاميذه ومترجميه من الأعلام على مرِّ القرون، وهذا ممَّا لا شكَّ فيه سيفتح لنا آفاقًا واسعةً لبيان الصورة الواضحة لتراث مهبط الأنبياء ودوحة العلماء- الحِلَّة السيفيَّة- على وجه العموم، وتراث عَلَمٍ موسوعيّ على وجه الخصوص، والله الموفِّق للسَّداد.

The idea of this research is the earnest study of the intellectual work of one of the scholars of Al-Hillah Al-Faiha in the eighth century A.H., namely, the great scholar, Abd Al-Rahman
Al-Ata’iqi Al-Hilli, who was distinguished by a broad mentality and a fiery mind; This work was a demonstration of the abundance of his knowledge, the breadth of his thought and his creativity, in the humanities and pure sciences, and an indication of his superior scientific standing among scholars, as well as a description of his peers, students and translators of scholars over the centuries, and this undoubtedly would open up broad horizons for us to show us a clear picture of the legacy of the Prophets and the City of Scholars -Al-Hilla Al-Saifah- in general, and the legacy of an encyclopedic science in particular.
